Suffrage tea to kick off 19th Amendment celebrations on campus

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Westminster College will host “Celebrating Voting Rights and the 19th Amendment: A Suffrage Tea” at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Berlin Lounge located in Westminster’s McKelvey Campus Center.

The suffrage tea will feature brief presentations about the 19th Amendment—which gave men and women equal voting a voting rights—as well as a voting rights demonstration and conversations about women’s suffrage. Refreshments will be provided.

The tea will be the first in a series of events on campus meant to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
