Westminster College’s annual Titan Film Festival invites community members of all ages and skill levels to showcase their creativity through a mini movie-making competition. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their original films by Wednesday, Oct. 21.  

To be eligible, filmmakers must incorporate the following elements:    

Be five minutes or less, not including credits. 
Include one sock as a prop. The sock may be used as a scene element in the background or part of the narrative.  
Incorporate or blend genres such as supernatural, mystery or science fiction. 
Be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages

Films will be judged on creativity, technical merit and use of the sock prop, with an emphasis on telling a short, compelling story in five minutes or less. Films can be created using a smartphone or DSLR camera. 

Winners will be announced during a showcase event at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, in Mueller Theater of McKelvey Campus Center on Westminster’s campus. The showcase will feature several awards including an audience choice award. The showcase is free and open to the public. 

The Titan Film Festival is sponsored by Westminster’s Beyond the Quad Art Series which encourages relationships and activities between students and the local community and support from Westminster's School of Communication, The Holcad, Titan Radio, Westminster Cable and wcn247.com.
