Westminster College School of Education welcomes Pittsburgh Pirates in-game host and professional speaker, Joe Klimchak, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the McKelvey Campus Center.
In his talk, which he calls “From Speech Therapy to the Big Leagues,” Klimchak will outline how childhood speech therapy led him to a successful speaking career and ultimately to his role as an in‑game host for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
"I had the opportunity to hear Joe speak in the past and his message is motivating and inspirational,” said Dr. Claire Fauzey, assistant professor of education. “Not only is it beneficial for future teachers to apply in their classrooms, it also gives everyone encouragement. He is a wonderful example of resilience.”
Klimchak shares lessons learned through humor and storytelling. He challenges his audience to realize the power they have in daily choices, relationships and routines that shape their personal and professional lives.
For over 20 years Klimchak has provided educators, leadership groups, corporations and more with an experience of shared conversation that gives audiences a way to re-connect with purpose and perspective through relatable stories and practical takeaways.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Fauzey at fauzeycl@westminster.edu.
