Westminster Music Faculty Schedules Jazz Concert Jan. 23

Four Westminster College music faculty have scheduled a Jazz Combo concert Sunday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

The concert features Mark Antonich on guitar, Jeff Wachter on piano, Jeff Bremer on the bass, and Perry Gatch on drums.

"We are very fortunate to have such a talented music faculty," said Dr. R. Tad Greig, director of bands at Westminster.  "We also want our music students to see us making music as well.  It is important for the students to know that we practice, prepare, and perform as professionals, as it is our wish for them to do so as well.  All the members of the faculty combo have very active performance careers outside of Westminster College, and we feel fortunate that we can share their talents with our own students."

"Football fans do not worry, the AFC Championship games does not begin until 6:30 p.m.," Greig continued.  "There is plenty of time to enjoy a wonderful afternoon of jazz music with the faculty of Westminster College."

The event is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact  Greig at (724) 946-7279 or e-mail greigrk@westminster.edu.

Keith Corso, instructor of speech communication at Westminster College, will present "Lifestyle Changes to Help Build Effective Communication in Marriage," at the Youngstown Diocese Ministry Convocation Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11:40 a.m. in the Kent State University Student Center.

"I've been involved in mentoring engaged couples prior to their marriage for the past three years and have organized a number of weekend retreats as well as held individual couple sessions along with my wife," Corso said.  "The purpose of this presentation is to advance the idea that marital communication can be significantly enhanced by certain lifestyles.  Instead of informing people on what to say and how to say something, the information I will share is designed to assist in deepening the marital relationship so communication can improve."

Corso, who has been with Westminster College since 2004, earned his undergraduate degree from Westminster College and his master's from the University of Akron.
