Westminster’s chapter of ENACTUS is doing their part in spreading holiday cheer by hosting a holiday event with The Confluence coffee shop in New Castle, PA. On Friday, Dec. 8, “Westminster Wonderland” will take place to drive traffic to small businesses in New Castle and give students some reprieve from a long semester.

Graduating from college is typically paired with an uneasy feeling of not knowing exactly where the next step may lead. However, senior business and accounting major Nataleigh Kerr has utilized the resources at Westminster College to make her transition in May one that will be filled with confidence in a successful future.

Over the summer, junior business administration major Anthony Akoto learned he was returning to the States from his home in Ghana earlier than anticipated this semester. After putting countless hours into his application for the Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) Career Prep program, Anthony received the great news he patiently waited for all summer— a position in the program! Soon after, he was invited and attended the MLT opening ceremony in Texas.

Twenty Westminster College students, accompanied by school of business faculty David Smith and Keith Bittel, were named regional champions after competing in the Enactus regional competition in Plano, TX this past April. Enactus is an international not-for-profit organization that brings together college students, academics and business leaders for the purpose of using entrepreneurial action to empower economically disadvantaged people around the globe in order to create a more sustainable world.

Laura Scotford ’86 was named Westminster Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year during the School of Business annual entrepreneurial banquet on April 10, 2017. Scotford won the award for her outstanding success as an entrepreneur. Nominees were reviewed by School of Business faculty. Based on input from the faculty, Mr. Jesse R. Ligo, professor of accounting and chair, selects the award winner. Scotford, founder of Simply Sensible Ltd, graduated from Westminster in 1986 with a B.A. in Management Science (School of Business).
