NEW WILMINGTON, PA – The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra series at Westminster College continues this March as the Grammy-winning orchestra and conductor Manfred Honeck return to the Will W. Orr stage at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 25.

Honeck will conduct selections from Edvard Greig’s beguiling Peer Gynt—including “Morning Mood” and “In the Hall of the Mountain King”—and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto featuring Lithuanian violinist Julian Rachlin. The orchestra will also perform Rachmaninoff’s Caprice bohémien.

Rachlin, who has been hailed as the “real thing” by The Los Angeles Times, has established himself as one of the most exciting and respected musicians of our time.

The symphony will perform in Westminster’s Will W. Orr Auditorium, a 1,700-seat concert hall, where Westminster’s various music ensembles and guest artists from the Celebrity Series regularly perform.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at Westminster series is sponsored by Steelite International.

Adult ticket prices vary and student tickets are $12. Admission is free for Westminster College students. For more information or to order tickets, contact Georgene Gib in the Celebrity Series Office by calling 724-946-7354
