Ceòl na Teud, Westminster College’s traditional Scottish music ensemble along with the Jazz Ensemble and several small brass ensembles will perform at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Admiral Robert Shumaker Park Amphitheater in New Wilmington, Pa. The fall concert is under the direction of Westminster School of Music faculty members, Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu and Dr. JaKobe Henry.

Ceòl na Teud’s instrumentalists play fiddles, guitar, mandolin, recorders and bass. Their performance will feature lively Scottish dance tunes like “Road to the Isles,” toe-tapping reels, jigs and the group’s version of Westminster's Alma Mater, performed in the traditional Scottish style.

The Westminster College Jazz Ensemble will close the concert with “Darn That Dream,” “How High the Moon” and “Spain”.

In the case of inclement weather, the concert will take place in the Berlin Lounge at Westminster College’s McKelvey Campus Center.

The event is free and open to the public.

This performance is part of Westminster College’s Beyond the Quad Art Series with a goal to connect students and the community through the arts. Beyond the Quad Art Series is supported by Westminster alumni Bob and Debby Jewell and coordinated by the Center for Professional Development and Community Engagement at Westminster College.
