Volleyball: Titans Win Third-Straight PAC Championship

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Top-seeded Westminster College earned a straight-set victory over No. 2 Bethany College in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Volleyball Championship Tournament title match Saturday evening. 

The conference title is Westminster's third straight. Westminster now owns six PAC titles since becoming eligible for the conference championship in 2002. The Titans won the PAC title in straight sets for the second-straight year. 

Titan senior Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) was recognized as the championship tournament's Most Outstanding Player, her second-straight. Steward joined classmates Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo) and Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) on the PAC All-Tournament Team. 

On Saturday, Steward registered 11 kills and 14 digs. Adelman hit .312 with a match-high 12 kills and five blocks. Kelly finished with 27 assists and six digs. Sophomore Malia Duffy (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) finished with 12 digs. Sophomore Lauren Lampus (Sarver, PA / Freeport) totaled five kills and 10 digs. Junior Kaylee Sciubba (Tarentum, PA / Deer Lakes) added five kills and five blocks, while sophomore Claire Tobin (Battlecreek, MI / Lakeview) earned nine digs.

The Titans have now advanced to the PAC Championship match five-straight years. 

As this year's championship tournament winner, Westminster received the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Selections for the Division III Championship will be announced Monday, Nov. 8 at 12:30 p.m. Regional competition is scheduled for Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 11-14.
