Westminster College is home to the second oldest Mock Convention in the nation. Every four years since 1936, except for 1944, Westminster College has held a Mock Convention for the party out of power.

This year will be the Democratic Party Convention. On Tuesday, November 12, former Democratic Maryland Governor and 2016 presidential candidate Martin O'Malley will kick off the student-organized convention with a keynote address in Orr Auditorium.

On Wednesday, November 13, Mock Convention activities move to the Memorial Field House for an afternoon of debates that lead to the nomination of the presidential and vice presidential candidates. Students portray the candidates who are the current front-runners according to recent polls. This year's candidates are:

  • Vice President Joe Biden, represented by junior political science major Jackson Gastmeyer of South Park, Pa.
