About the School


The School of Social Sciences is composed of the Department of Criminal Justice & Sociology, the Department of Political Science, and the Department of Psychology. It also suports our interdisciplinary Neuroscience and International Studies majors, as well as the Peace Studies and Pre-Law Programs.

Social scientists study how people behave, interact with each other, develop culture and assert influence. Each of the disciplines in this School explores some aspect of how society works, ranging from the triggers of war to what makes people happy. Students in the social sciences learn to apply scientific methodologies to the examination of the relationships between individuals and societies, as well as the development and operation of societies.
