Indoor Track & Field: Hardy and Gossard Compete at NCAA Nationals

BOSTON, Mass. – Westminster College senior sprinter Jaevon Hardy (Waldorf, MD / North Point) and first-year pole vaulter Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) both competed in the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday. The two-day event is being hosted by the University of Massachusetts Boston.
 
Hardy placed 18th in the 60 preliminaries with a time of 6.94, marking the fastest time in the event at Nationals in his career. Hardy placed 14th at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Nationals (7.04) when he was the first male Titan to qualify in any event for Indoor Nationals and the first Titan (male or female) to qualify for an indoor track event.
 
Gossard, making her first trip to Nationals, finished 10th with a vault of 12'01.50" (3.70m.). Gossard cleared her final jump at 3.45m, passed on the 3.60m, and cleared 3.70m on her first attempt. Westminster has now sent 11 NCAA qualifiers in women's pole vault in seven-straight years.
