Swimming & Diving: Titan Women Win PAC Championship, Titan Men Finish Second

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Westminster College women's swimming & diving team claimed the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship with 906 points on Saturday. The Titan men placed second with 864 points. Grove City College hosted the four-day event.
 
The PAC title was the Titan women's fifth overall and first since 2007.

Third-year Head Coach Pat Smith '07 was named the PAC Women's Coach of the Year, his first Women's Coach of the Year honor (second overall). Fifth-year Diving Coach Heath Calhoun was named the PAC Men's and Women's Diving Coach of the year for the second-straight year. Sophomore Connor May (Highlands Ranch, CO / Glacier Park) earned the PAC Men's Diver of the Year, his second-straight.

On Saturday, for the women, senior Carolyn Novak (Pittsburgh, PA / Upper St. Clair) won the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.46, only .41 seconds from breaking the school record. Junior Maggie Manolis (Jeannette, PA / Jeannette) won the 200 breaststroke at 2:26.35.
 
For the men, senior David Peffer (Ellwood City, PA / Riverside) won the 200 backstroke with a PAC record and NCAA B-cut/2018 national qualifying winning time of 1:48.25. May earned first in the 3-meter dive with a regional-qualifying score of 567.05. Freshman Patrick Holton (Livonia, MI / Winston Churchill) also had a regional-qualifying score of 565.55 for second-place.
