Professor and Alum to Reunite at Juried Art Show Affiliated with Smithsonian

Peggy Lynn Cox, professor of art, and Steve Totin ‘14 were both accepted into a juried art exhibit at the AnnMarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center in Maryland.

The Arts Center is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution and National Gallery of Art. 

Cox will feature her natural dye/felt textile work, “Eco-Nuno" and Totin will feature his piece, "Trametes Versicolor" in the exhibit “Threads,” a sampling of fiber arts, March 18 - July 24.

“I’ll exhibit an installation made of plastic shopping bags and thread that I created while at Westminster as part of my Honors Program senior solo show,” said Totin.

According to their website, Threads assembles a vibrant and diverse selection of works that reflect the best of contemporary fiber and textile art, from works that embrace innovative materials, forms, and processes, to those that celebrate the history of this art form.  

“I am elated to be part of the show, especially because my former professor, Peggy Cox, is amongst the other artists in the show," said Totin. "It's an honor to show my work alongside someone whose work I greatly admire and who taught me and guided me during my time at Westminster."

Juried by internationally recognized expert, Renate Maile-Moskowitz, Threads will "thrill" guests with its colors, textures, and designs.
