Westminster College music education major Emilie Stuart will present her senior piano and organ recital Saturday, March 26, at 3 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.
Piano selections include "Sonata in Ab major, Allegro moderato" by Haydn, Debussy's first "Arabesque," and "Three Fantastic Dances" by Shostakovich. Organ works include "Prelude, Fugue, and Chaconne in C major (BuxWV137)" by Buxtehude; "Prelude" from Franck's Prelude, Fugue, and Variation; and the "Toccata" from Boëllmann's Suite Gothique.
At Westminster, Stuart has been involved in Women's Chorus, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Handbell Choir. She is a member of Mu Phi Epsilon music honor fraternity, Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association, and Pi Sigma Pi honor society. She teaches private piano lessons through the Music Intern Teaching Program and assists with administrative duties for the program.
At Westminster, Stuart studies piano with Dr. Nancy Zipay DeSalvo, associate professor of music, and organ with Kathryn Miller, adjunct music faculty and College organist.
Stuart is a daughter of Jerome and Sandra Stuart of Carlisle and a graduate of Carlisle High School.
