Bradley Weaver, Westminster College instructor of broadcast communications, presented "Real Television Coverage of a Mock Presidential Convention" at the Broadcast Education Association convention.
Weaver's presentation was part of a roundtable discussion, "Covering the One-Time-Only Event: Making the (Academic) Most of It." The panel explored what worked and what did not work in the coverage of election returns, music festivals, parades, conventions, and similar one-time-only events. Panelists shared tips on pre-production, production, and post-production techniques that served to maximize academic benefits of such an event while providing quality programming to viewers and listeners.
