Westminster College will host the reunion of the first class of Pittsburgh Regional Champions Wednesday, May 23, at 6 p.m. in Russell Dining Hall.
"We are trying to erase the steel town, smoke stack image of Pittsburgh," said Jackie Meade, director of the Career Center at Westminster College and member of this first class of champions. "Ultimately we want to get young professionals to think well enough about the area that they won't leave after they graduate."
The Pittsburgh Regional Champions, created by the Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce and the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance in the spring of 1999, trains classes of 35-40 people in a five-county area with a series of three traveling workshops aimed to eliminate the negative misconceptions about Pittsburgh.
