A Christmas Carol Coming to Westminster College

Posted on Tuesday, November 13, 2001

A Christmas Carol is coming to Westminster College, Thursday, Nov. 29, at 8 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

As the play opens, the audience will find themselves in a nostalgic three-dimensional Christmas card, complete with colorful street vendors peddling their trinkets, caroling children, and a beggar dancing for pennies. With the holiday mood set, this musical version of Charles Dickens' classic will follow the spiritual transformation of the world's most famous miser, Ebenezer Scrooge.

"Dickens' Christmas Carol is probably the most popular secular Christmas story every told," said Gene DeCaprio, director of the Celebrity Series. "We've had the Nebraska Theatre Caravan two times before, and they bring to life any story with music and dance. It's a wonderful entrance to the holiday season."

Good seats are still available. For reservations, call the box office (724) 946-7354.
