Dr. Sherri Pataki, associate professor of psychology at Westminster College, was invited to speak at the International Women's Day conference entitled “Education for Gender Equality in the Arab Sector as Leverage for Social Change” at the Arab Academic College in Haifa, Israel on March 13. During her visit, Pataki taught several classes of students working towards their master’s degree in education and met with students to discuss ongoing collaborative research projects between the Arab Academic College and Westminster.

The Division of Cognitive and Quantitative Sciences hosted their annual spring recognition and awards banquet on Tuesday, March 29, at 5:00 PM in the Witherspoon Lakeview and Maple Rooms. Dr. Terri Lenox, division chair, provided opening remarks. Following the dinner, program faculty recognized graduating seniors and program recognition awards, book awards, and scholarships were awarded to the student winners.

Eight Westminster students attended and presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at the University of Memphis in Tennessee the weekend of April 6-8th. The students all received funding from the Drinko Center for Undergraduate Research to attend the conference.

Several Westminster students, alumni and Dr. Joel Postema, associate professor of Spanish, recently traveled to Sabaneta de Yásica, Dominican Republic to volunteer during a mission partnership between Presbyterian congregations in Pennsylvania and Ohio and the Iglesia Evangélica Dominicana in Sabaneta de Yásica, Dominican Republic.
