Dr. Pamela Richardson, Associate Professor of Mathematics, published a chapter entitled "SMP: Building a Community of Women in Mathematics" in the book Mathematics Education: A Spectrum of Work in Mathematical Sciences Departments. The book featuring Richardson’s work is part of the Association for Women in Mathematics book series with Springer International Publishing.

As part of the NSF Robert J. Noyce Scholarship Grant, Westminster College will host an IQ-STEM workshop, June 20 – 24, featuring nationally recognized urban educator, Dr. H. Richard Milner IV. The event is open to student fellows and area STEM partner high school teachers.

Registration is now open for Westminster College’s first annual STEM Academy, from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day from June 27 – 30. This year, the camp is open to the first 30 students entering grades nine and ten. Registrations following will be added to the waitlist.

Westminster College students, professors, and faculty emerita attended the Joint Mathematics Meetings, the annual conference of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), the two largest mathematical professional organizations in the country. Over 6,300 mathematicians attended this year’s conference in Seattle, Washington.
