Amber Brkich, a 2000 Westminster College graduate with a degree in public relations, is the ultimate survivor and took home a million dollars and an engagement ring during last night's season finale of the CBS reality show Survivor: All-Stars.
Brkich, a 25-year-old native of Beaver, Pa., outwitted, outlasted, and outplayed 17 of the finest contestants from the previous eight Survivor shows during a 39-day contest in Panama. Brkich edged her alliance partner "Boston" Rob Mariano by a 4-3 vote revealed during Sunday night's live broadcast in New York City.
Mariano also ended up a big winner on the evening as Brkich accepted his marriage proposal.
Brkich will be busy for the next few weeks on a CBS media tour. She and "Boston" Rob were featured on Monday's Early Show, and she will also be a guest on Late Night With David Letterman Monday at 11:30 p.m.
In case Amber needs any ideas on what to do with her prize, the Westminster College Development Office is accepting donations for a number of worthwhile projects.
