Student conductors highlight of Wind Ensemble performance

NEW WILMINGTON, PA –  The Westminster College Wind Ensemble will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in the College’s Orr Auditorium.

The concert, titled “A Year of Premieres,” will feature three guest student conductors who all won the Young Conductors Competition earlier this year.

These students include Sean Evanick, a senior music education and performance major who plays the trumpet; Taylor Powell, a senior music education major who sings; and Zoey Povlick, a senior music education major who plays the oboe.

The ensemble will premier Raymond Strobel’s “Eccentric Suite,” as well as play works by Ralph Ford, Johann Sebastian Bach, Clare Grundman, Michael Markowski, Mark Camphouse and Rossano Galante.
