Westminster College's Celebrity Series for Kids will present Henry and Mudge at 6:30 p.m. on May 27 in Orr Auditorium. This event is sponsored by Dr. Richard Ribarevski and Dr. Pek C. Teh.

TheatreworksUSA’s musical, Henry and Mudge, is based on the best-selling children’s books written by Cynthia Rylant about a boy and his great big canine buddy. The book was adapted by bookwriter, Kait Kerrigan, and composer, Brian Lowdermilk.

This performance is about a young boy named Henry who moves to the country. Henry misses Annie, his cousin and best friend, and can’t find a playmate in his new neighborhood. His mom and dad buy him a great, big, slobbery dog named Mudge to act as a companion. It seems as though Henry and Mudge will be best friends forever, until Annie arrives for a visit. Will Annie come between a boy and his dog? Can a kid have two best friends?

TheatreworksUSA is America’s largest and most prolific professional nonprofit theatre for young and family audiences.

This 50-minute musical is recommended for children pre-kindergarten through third-grade.

Tickets are $12. To purchase tickets, contact Georgene Gib, box office manager, at (724) 946-7354, or order online at www.westminster.edu/celebrity.
