Westminster College’s Celebrity Series will present “You’ve Got a Friend” at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 23 in Orr Auditorium. The event is sponsored by Huntington Bank and Jameson Health System.

“You’ve Got A Friend” is a moving, genuine and nostalgic evening of the music of Carole King and James Taylor starring two long-time friends and collaborators, hit songwriter Kirsti Manna and national recording artist Jonathan Birchfield accompanied by a 24-piece orchestra. The duo captures the essence of friendship through music with their dynamic performances.

With stylistic comparisons to Carole King and James Taylor, audiences enjoy Manna’s unique artistry on piano and vocals with Birchfield’s velvet toned vocals and guitar. They take their audiences back with favorites like “How Sweet It Is,” “Carolina in My Mind,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” and of course, the incomparable, “You’ve Got a Friend.”

The pair has shared the stage with such artists as Brooks and Dunn, Ray Charles, Jimmy Buffett, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and have appeared on the Grand Ole Opry. Now they are sharing the stage not only with each other but with the songs of their musical mentors.

Purchase tickets ranging from $33 - $45 by visiting www.westminster.edu/celebrity or by contacting Georgene Gib, box office manager, at (724) 946-7354.
