Over 30 students set off for the Spring Break with a Purpose trip to Georgetown, South Carolina, this week.

The group, coordinated by Rev. James Mohr, college chaplain, and accompanied by President Richard H. Dorman, will work to build a house, assist in flood rehabilitation projects, and help in other various areas of need.

“We have the opportunity to learn about the community and culture, soak in the history of the Charleston, South Carolina, and have evening reflections together,” said Mohr.

“Things are going great in South Carolina,” said Jackie Decker, senior theatre major. “On Sunday, we went to worship at the church then we were able to go to a local beach and BBQ place to fellowship together. Today we started building sheds for the habitat homes that are already built and have been making great progress. Overall it has been a great escape and a good time!”
