As students anticipate the end of the semester, the reality of approaching finals sets in. To help alleviate the stress that comes along with this season, Westminster College will welcome furry friends to campus.

“Playing with or petting an animal can increase levels of the stress-reducing hormone oxytocin and decrease production of the stress hormone cortisol,” according to animalsmart.org.

Join us for Pause for Paws, Friday, December 11 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Berlin Lounge, McKelvey Campus Center. The campus community is invited to stop by or bring their own animal to share.

Other volunteers and pets will visit from the Lawrence County Humane Society. Members of the Lambda Sigma Honor Society will sell dog treats to raise money for the shelter.

Those bringing their housebroken and well-behaved pet should confirm their visit by contacting Babs Quincy, counselor and event coordinator, at (724) 946-7340 or quincybi@westminster.edu.
