Providing over 70 years of master’s degrees, the Graduate School at Westminster College announces its current programming matched with plans for Fall 2015.

“I kind of stumbled upon Westminster’s Graduate School,” said Melissa Rura, who received her bachelors in psychology with a minor in sociology from The University of Akron. “After talking with the program director and learning the ratio of students to professors (ranging from 5:1 to 15:1), I fell in love with it. And, I quickly learned how much the faculty genuinely love their jobs, love to teach and love to help their students learn and succeed.”

The Graduate School is headquartered at Westminster College’s campus in New Wilmington, Pa., but offers satellite locations in Cranberry Township, Hermitage, Erie, Franklin, Pittsburgh, and Boardman, Ohio. Designed for students who work full-time, the hybrid program operates on a blended schedule, with evening meetings once per week for eight weeks, paired with an online coursework element.

“The fact that the program is hybrid is one of its huge perks,” continues Rura. “By only meeting on campus once during the week, I am still able to work two part time jobs. Just imagine the benefit for full-time working adults! I am nothing but happy and proud to be a part of the Westminster community and know that my education is in good, experienced hands.”

A variety of general, certification, non-certification, post-masters and post-baccalaureate programs are offered within the following areas: school principal (K-12), school superintendent, school counselor, reading specialist (K-12), special education, and special education with reading specialist (K-12).

Beginning in fall of 2015, the Graduate School will offer online classes, operating 90% online with field experiences (practicum and internship) requiring few in-person meetings. Online and hybrid formats are filled based on enrollment and may not be available in all locations.
