NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Aaron Walters, a neuroscience major who graduated from Westminster College in May, published his senior thesis project in the Journal of Student Research.

"Exploration of the Hemispheric Differences in Number Processing of the Brain" examined how reaction time and accuracy differed in the left and right visual fields by altering various dot clusters in both number and organization. The findings indicated that different numerical judgment abilities do exist within hemispheres. Walters was advised by Dr. Sandra Webster, professor of psychology, and Dr. Alan Gittis, professor of neuroscience emeritus.

Walters also presented his research at the Eastern Psychological Association meetings in Pittsburgh in March, and the Westminster College Undergraduate Research and Arts Celebration in April.

He is a son of Michael and Jeanne Walters and a graduate of Oil City Area High School.
