"Networking 101," an alumni panel discussion focusing on proper networking techniques, will be offered to Westminster College students Tuesday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in the Witherspoon Maple Room of the McKelvey Campus Center.

"Now, more than ever, networking is an important way to build connections leading to internships, employee opportunities, and career resources," said Mary James, Westminster's director of alumni relations and a 1984 Westminster graduate.  "This event, hosted by the Student Alumni Association, is an opportunity for students to learn about successful networking and to begin building their network through connections to alumni."

Gloria Cagigas, Westminster vice president for institutional advancement, will welcome students.

Jackie Meade, director of Westminster's Career Center and a 1986 master's graduate, will share networking advice.

Westminster junior public relations major Tawni Darby, a daughter of Walter and Lori Darby of Hermitage, will moderate a panel of Westminster alumni that includes:
   • Becky Rickard, a 1998 graduate, group sales and audience development manager for Pittsburgh Public Theater and a member of Westminster's Alumni Council
   • Dan Vogler, a 1981 graduate, chairman of the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners and a member of Westminster's Alumni Council
   • Colleen Wilson, a 1997 graduate, marketing manager for Dick's Sporting Goods

Panelists will be available during dessert to chat with students about their areas of expertise.

The Westminster Student Alumni Association works to build connections between students and alumni and increase awareness of alumni support of Westminster.
