Media Art Professor to Speak on Design at Faires Faculty Forum

Posted on Monday, January 30, 2012

Kurt Roscoe, Westminster College assistant professor of media art, will present "The Design of Stuff and Other Things" at Faires Faculty Forum Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of the McKelvey Campus Center.

Design is in every corner of our lives from our homes and workplaces to the stores where we shop and the buildings in our communities.  Roscoe will share his passion for design as he answers the questions "Is function as important as visual aesthetics?" and "Beyond design, what gives a product sustainability?"

Roscoe, who joined Westminster in 2010, earned an undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and master's degree from Kent State University.

Contact Roscoe at (724) 946-7237 or email for additional information.

Faculty Forum was established in 1990 by Dr. Barbara Faires, Westminster professor of mathematics emerita, during her term as Dean of the College and Vice President for Academic Affairs.  Faculty members from all disciplines volunteer to present lectures on their current research, artistic productions, and/or scholarship of teaching and learning.  Each forum presents new ideas with innovative lecture techniques.
