Professor Appointed to Global Solutions Board of Directors

Dr. Michael Aleprete, Westminster College assistant professor of political science, was named to the Board of Directors for Global Solutions Education Fund-Pittsburgh. The three-year term begins in January.

Global Solutions is the local non-profit affiliate of Citizens for Global Solutions. The organization's focus is on raising awareness of global issues among area youth by funding several important education initiatives designed to provide opportunities for enhancing education on those issues.

Global Solutions works with local high schools and colleges to develop programs that enhance awareness of global issues. Aleprete first became involved through his position as faculty adviser to Westminster's Model United Nations organization, which currently receives an annual grant from Global Solutions.

Aleprete, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2007, earned an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and a master's and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
