During the night of reading, students were invited to celebrate the theme, "Spring Fling, It's a Family Thing," by playing a game to get to know each other, drawing a mural, and reading books. The mural can be found on the third floor of Old Main.
Reading is Fun Week is designed to stress the importance of reading, as well as provide a fun setting for students to enjoy the benefits of reading.
Membership in Kappa Delta Pi is restricted to the top 20 percent of those students seeking teacher certification. Members are required to be at least second-semester sophomores, and present evidence of service to children and the profession.
Kappa Delta Pi members who took part in this celebration include: Molly Dyke, from Ashville N.Y., is a daughter of Shirley Dyke, and graduate of Panama Central School; Kelly Evanoski, from New Castle, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Evanoski, and a graduate of Neshannock High School; Melinda Niznik, from Pittsburgh, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Thomas, and a graduate of Keystone Oaks High School; and Shannon Simmons, from East Palestine, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Simmons, and a graduate of Crestview High School.
