Dr. Claire (Celli) Fauzey ’08 has come full circle at Westminster College—returning to the same campus where she earned two of her degrees to now serve as a faculty member in the education department. Dr. Fauzey brings a wealth of classroom experience, leadership, and service back to the campus that helped shape her own path.

Tell us a little about your professional journey.

I have a love for teaching and have spent 17 years in education. Before joining the Westminster Education Department in 2025, I taught 7th grade math. Though I’m new to the department, I’m not new to WC—I graduated in 2008, earned a graduate degree in 2012 and have held a variety of roles in education since.

What degrees and certifications are on your resume?

I earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership & Administration, a Master of Education in Professional School Counseling (K–12), and a Master of Education in Special Education (Grades 7–12). I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a secondary education teaching certificate. I’m Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certified in social studies, math, communications, English, professional school counseling, and PK–12 principal.

What kind of role did Westminster play in your career and educational path?

Westminster gave me a love of learning, it sounds cliche but it is true. It wasn't just in the classroom, it was the social aspect of the campus as well. My academics at WC challenged me and taught me different ways of thinking outside of my own bubble. It taught me to go out and do more, not just what was asked of me and I feel that it has played out in so many parts of my life. Do more and do it well. Now that classes have started, being a faculty member at WC is like a dream. I hope to inspire my own students to do more than what they ever thought they were capable of and achieve their dreams one class at a time.

You also make time for giving back to your community. Tell us about your volunteer endeavors.

Community service is something I’m very passionate about. I serve on my district’s school board, helped create a youth basketball program for grades K–6, and stay involved in PTO activities at my daughters’ school. I assist with teaching CCD at our church, started and now lead a monthly middle school girls’ group, and have organized volunteer projects such as collecting school supplies and gifts for cancer patients At Westminster, I’m proud to contribute on this year's all-alumni reunion planning committee for Homecoming (which is Saturday, October 18, by the way).

You’ve been giving back to Westminster for years, including nominating students for the Jerb Miller Scholarship for almost a decade! Can you explain the impact of the Jerb Miller scholarship and why it’s important to you?

In 2004 when first coming to WC as a freshman, I was also a recipient of the Jerb Miller Scholarship, it was such an honor to receive. I believe that it set the tone of what it was really like to be a part of WC, it's a community that is always giving back and excelling in its academics. I love nominating high school students for two reasons, 1. I love WC so much (clearly) and know what a great all around experience they will have here and 2. What a privilege it is to bring awareness of what is available at WC and possibly help students attend Westminster who may not have been able to without the scholarship.

What do you do in your free time?

My husband and I have two daughters and enjoy spending time outside and playing with our golden doodles!
