Celebrity Series presents Lucie Arnaz: “I got the job” songs from my musical past

Westminster College’s Celebrity Series presents Lucie Arnaz and her performance of “I Got the Job” Songs from my Musical Past to the Orr Auditorium stage at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 21.

Arnaz began her career on television at the age of 12 in a recurring role on “The Lucy Show” and at 17 became a series regular on “Here’s Lucy.”

On film, Arnaz co-starred in “The Jazz Singer” with Neil Diamond and Sir Laurence Oliver, as well as several made-for-television movies like “Who is the Black Dahila,” “Washington Mistress” and even “Who Gets the Friends?” with Jill Clayburgh.

For nearly three decades, Lucie Arnaz has toured her critically acclaimed nightclub acts throughout the United States and Europe with stops in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno with special appearances at The White House and the 1981 Academy Awards.

Arnaz’s heart has always been in the live performance arena and has received a number of theatrical awards including The Los Angeles Drama Critic’s Awards, Outer Critic’s Circle Award, the Theatre World Award and was also named by broadway.com as DC’s Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her work as Berthe.

The show features a look back at some of the roles Arnaz has had on stages throughout the world, anecdotes about her co-stars and some iconic songs from some of Broadway’s greatest shows.
