The Westminster College Concert Choir and the Chamber Singers will perform a fall concert Sunday, Nov. 18, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.

Dr. Robin Lind, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Westminster College will lead both groups of singers.

The concert choir program includes songs by American composers such as Aaron Copland, William Billings, Virgil Thomas, Rene Clausen, and Mack Wilberg, as well as music of New Zealand and Africa.

The choir continues with three Scottish folksongs with poetry by Robert Burns. Dr. Bryan Rennie, associate professor of religion and philosophy at Westminster College, translated the English version of the poem into Scottish text and taught the choir to sing the Scottish dialect. Jeanetta Antus, a junior music education major from Hermitage, and Stanley Rothrock, a 2001 Westminster College graduate from Yeagertown, will accompany the choir on the piano this arrangement by Mack Wilberg.

The Chamber Singers, which is a select group of 15 singers, will perform a variety of numbers including three French Chansons by Francis Poulenc, and "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" arranged by Gene Puerling.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Westminster College Department of Music at (724) 946-7270.
