Presidential road trip aims to connect with Westminster alumni, friends

Westminster College President Dr. Kathy Brittain Richardson and Vice President for Institutional Advancement Dr. Jean Hale will hit the road over the next several months to meet with alumni and friends and share the news of the College.

The On the Road tour, which will introduce newly-appointed Hale to Westminster’s supporters across the country, will take the duo to locations in Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Nashville, Tenn., Florida, Texas and the West Coast. 

The first three stops on their journey will take Richardson and Hale through Pennsylvania regions, while stops four and five will take the pair to the Washington, D.C. and Nashville areas. Alumni, parents and friends who live and work the areas are invited to attend for conversation, tasty food selections and a chance to meet the Westminster leaders.

Upcoming stops include:

Huntingdon, Pa.: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, in Huntingdon, Pa., at the home of 1970 alumnus Tom Kepple.

Harrisburg area: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Hilton Harrisburg, 1 N. 2nd St., Harrisburg.

Pittsburgh area: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, at McCormick and Schmick’s Restaurant, 301 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh.

Washington, D.C. area: 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, Bell Haven Country Club, 6023 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria, Va. Hosted by 1986 alumni couple Deb (Berlin) and David Boyle.

Nashville area: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, Franklin, Tenn., The event will be at the home of 1977 alumnus Kevin Garvey and his wife, Jody, and will be co-hosted by 1980 alumni couple Debbie and Bob Jewell.

This is the second On the Road tour for Richardson, who was named Westminster College’s 15th President in 2016. Hale joined the College in July.
