Stephanie Boyle, a sophomore intercultural studies major at Westminster College, recently received the William J. Wolf Memorial Scholarship.
This $12,000 scholarship, funded by The Pittsburgh Foundation, was applied to her tuition for the 2005-2006 academic year.
"We are grateful to the William J. Wolfe Memorial Scholarship Fund and The Pittsburgh Foundation for their support of bright, motivated students like Ms. Boyle, who represent the future of our region," said Gloria Cagigas, vice president for institutional advancement at Westminster.
In 2003, The Pittsburgh Foundation, the 15th largest community foundation in the nation, awarded more than $24 million in grants to charitable organizations. Established in 1945, The Pittsburgh Foundation is comprised of more than 960 funds established by organizations and individual donors. These funds range from $10,000 to more than $32 million, and have a combined market value of approximately $537 million.
Boyle is a daughter of Rose Boyle, Pittsburgh, and a graduate of Baldwin High School.

Robert Klamut Jr., associate professor of physical education, head swim coach & assistant track coach at Westminster College, will present "Keeping Our Heads Above Water: The Westminster College Aquatics Program" at Faculty Forum Wednesday, April 26, at 11:45 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater located in the McKelvey Campus Center.
"I will explain the Aquatics Program here at Westminster, including class offerings, recreational swim opportunities, pool rental, events that take place at the pool, lifeguards, and swimming proficiency tests," Klamut said. "I will also discuss our work-study program and their training."
Klamut, who has been with Westminster College since 1985, earned his undergraduate degree from Clarion University, and master's from the University of Pittsburgh.
Faculty Forum, established in 1990, serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information among Westminster College faculty. Speakers present their research, teaching ideas, lectures, performances, special programs, and uses of technology to keep faculty informed about the work of colleagues from many disciplines.

The Westminster College Percussion Ensemble will perform Monday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.
Dr. G. Samuel Lightner, chair and professor of physics at Westminster College, recently presented a paper at the 42nd annual meeting of the American Physics Society Division of Plasma Physics which was combined with the 10th International Congress on Plasma Physics at Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

Jessica Henninger, a junior elementary education major at Westminster College, received the Keystone State Reading Association Scholarship.
"When I found out that my application was sent to the state level, I thought that was great and figured that was as far as it was going to go," said Henninger. "So when I was notified that I won, it was a big surprise! So many of the Westminster faculty, particularly the education department, has given me so much support and help. I can see why I choose this school."
Eleven teams from four area high schools recently attended the Westminster College High School Programming Contest.
Seven Westminster College students have put their senior art capstone projects on display in the Westminster College Art Gallery until May 18. The gallery is open Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, noon-9 p.m.
The Westminster College Chapel Office will sponsor World Vision's 30-hour famine Feb. 29-March 1 to raise awareness of childhood hunger.
Dr. Bryan Rennie, Westminster College's Vira I. Heinz professor of religion, and Zoe Anthony, a Westminster senior religion major, will attend the American Academy of Religion (AAR) conference Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in Chicago.

Kristen Enterline, a Westminster College senior molecular biology major, earned one of two awards for Outstanding Poster presentation at the 30th annual Undergraduate Biology Symposium for Western Pennsylvania April 18 at Waynesburg University.
