Student Employment empowers students to build career-ready skills through meaningful experiential learning opportunities that foster individual development while supporting essential College functions. College positions focus on the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) competencies to provide a complementary educational experience to students' education inside the classroom.
Multiple offices and areas work in collaboration with each other to administer the Student Employment program. Representatives from Financial Aid, Professional Development and Community Engagement (PDCE), Human Resources, Business Office, and Student Affairs oversee all aspects of the process for students and departments. These offices facilitate connections between students and hiring departments, including the development and posting of positions, application and interview process, hiring and rehire processes, and ongoing support.
Available Positions
Open positions are posted on Handshake each year by June 30. Beginning July 1, students are able to review all open positions on Handshake and apply for them individually through Handshake or submit a general application that is shared with supervisors. All positions indicate the overall responsibilities, as well as general hours and days of the week work is available.
Over 80 different jobs are offered with close to 250 positions each year. Almost 50 different offices and departments employ students on campus.
Applying for a Position
Students may apply individually on Handshake for any open position. In addition, students may fill out a general application with basic information that helps supervisors identify if you might be a positive fit for their positions. This information is shared with all supervisors. Click the links below to begin your application process.
Handshake
General Application
Students may also stop by the PDCE office for assistance with Handshake.
Annual Positions
College departments and offices hire students annually. Current students should speak to their supervisors about the rehire process for the subsequent year. New entering students and current students not employed are sent employment information around July 1 each year to alert them to open positions for the next academic year. While not all positions are open each year (student rehired), the list below indicates in general the types of positions offered each year.
