The Holcad originated in 1884 as the weekly student newspaper. It contains news, reviews and editorials on all aspects of campus life and of events taking place nationally and internationally that may be of concern to students. Staff positions require writing experience, a college journalism course, or high school journalism experience, although anyone is permitted to submit an article for publication. English majors with a concentration in print communications are urged to participate. Staff editors are paid each semester.
