Alpha Kappa Delta is the international honor society in sociology, established at Westminster for juniors or seniors who are majoring or minoring in the discipline. AKD sponsors a variety of academic and social activities for its members and the larger campus, and generally supports scholarship dedicated to improving the condition of humankind. Members must have completed at least four sociology or social science courses, have an overall GPA of 3.25, and have a 3.25 in the major or minor and a rank in the top 35% of their class in general scholarship. The organization may require payment of dues.
