Faculty member leads journalism pedagogy panel at BEA conference

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Westminster College School of Communication lecturer and student media adviser Bradley Weaver led a panel of experts at the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) On-Location Conference in Boulder in October.

Experts included faculty from Ithaca College, the University of Alabama and broadcast journalists. The group investigated “How to teach out of touch journalism students” and explored assignments in course projects designed to promote news literacy.

Weaver also participated in workshops focused technology and newsroom workflow.

The BEA On-Location conference was held at the University of Colorado in Boulder from Oct. 10-12.

Weaver, who has been with Westminster since 2000, earned an undergraduate degree from Alderson-Broaddus College and master’s degree from the University of Kansas.
