NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI) named sophomore broadcasting and media production major Jack Karson a national finalist for the 2019 CBI National Student Production Award for Best Feature News Reporting (Audio).

The nomination features Karson’s "Profile of a TV News Chief Photographer" podcast. The segment visits a Westminster graduate now working at WFMJ-21 News to learn how social media and the internet have changed the jobs of news managers.

The story is featured in Mother Fair, WCN’s regularly produced podcast focused on telling the stories of Westminster’s students, alumni, coaches/faculty and community. The May 2019 edition of the Mother Fair podcast is a CBI finalist for Best Podcast.

CBI award winners will be announced at the 2019 National Student Electronic Media Convention Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in St. Louis.
