NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College Trumpet Ensemble, along with the Northwest Passage Trumpet Trio, will present a free recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 7, in the Wallace Memorial Chapel on Westminster’s campus.

The send-off recital will precede the Westminster College Trumpet Ensemble’s July trip to Miami where they will perform in the 2019 International Trumpet Guild (ITG) conference. This is the first time the Westminster’s trumpet ensemble has been invited to perform at this event. The Northwest Passage Trumpet Trio was also invited to perform at the conference.

The July 7 recital will feature performances from both groups, as well as a combined trumpet ensemble. The final selection will be a powerful composition that features 10 trumpets and Westminster College organist Paula Kubik.

The Northwest Passage Trumpet Trio consists of three northwest Pennsylvania college faculty members including, Westminster’s Dr. Timothy Winfield, Allegheny College’s Dr. Jennifer Dearden and Grove City College’s Andrew Erb, also a Westminster alumnus.

The July 7 recital is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Dr. Timothy Winfield, assistant professor of music at Westminster, at 724-946-7274 or at winfietd@westminster.edu.
