Faculty Forum continues at Westminster College with Dr. Helen Boylan, assistant professor of chemistry, and Erin Smith, electronic resources librarian, Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 11:30 a.m. in the McKelvey Campus Center Theater exploring new software.

"Our presentation, EndNote: The Write Stuff,' explores the features and benefits of EndNote software by ISI Thomson Researchsoft," Smith said. "EndNote is a bibliographic database tool that simplifies the process of creating and formatting bibliographies. With this software, users can also catalog other information such as figures, tables, and graphics. We think that EndNote would greatly benefit all members of the Westminster community engaged in scholarly writing by streamlining the notoriously tedious process of manually creating, organizing and formatting bibliographies."

Boylan, who has been with Westminster College since 2001, earned her undergraduate degree from Westminster College, and her Ph.D. from Duquesne University.

Smith, who joined Westminster College in 2002, earned her undergraduate and master's degree from the University of Tennessee.

Faculty forum, established in 1990, serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information among Westminster College faculty. Speakers present their research, teaching ideas, lectures, performances, special programs, and uses of technology to keep faculty informed about the work of colleagues from many disciplines.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Boylan at (724) 946-6293 or e-mail boylanhm@westminster.edu; or Smith at (724) 946-7327 or e-mail smithet@westminster.edu.
