High school orchestras and individual high school string players are invited to attend a day of fun, motivating, string-centric activities led by the Westminster College string faculty from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.15.

There will be various events led by Westminster faculty such as instrumental-specific choirs and combined string orchestra, a recital and a chance to perform with members of the Westminster string community.

The recital will feature distinguished faculty including Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, professor of music and U.S. National Scottish Fiddling Champion, on violin and viola; adjunct instructor Michael Gelfand on cello and adjunct instructor Justin Bendel on bass.

The day will include numerous opportunities to learn from Westminster faculty about string music.

Music will be sent out prior to the event. Lunch and an ice cream social are included, followed by a concert for families at 5 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

The event is free but registration is required by Friday, Oct. 31. To register, please visit here
