Seven members of the Westminster College Model United Nations team recently attended a mock meeting at the College of Wooster.

"There were about 36 participants from Westminster, the College of Wooster and Mercyhurst College," said Dr. Andrea Grove, assistant professor of political science and adviser to the group.  "The three advisers all attended the same graduate school, Ohio State University, and we have been making efforts to collaborate with their students in events like this."

The topic was a nuclear weapons free zone in the Middle East, and Westminster students represented the people of Brazil, United Kingdom, Costa Rica, Iran, Ukraine, Indonesia and Austria.

"A model UN is a way for students to learn about the United Nations, contemporary international issues, multilateral diplomacy, how to see problems from various perspectives, and how to engage in role playing," Grove said.
