Model U.N. Hosted Mid-Atlantic Competition

Westminster's Model United Nations student organization hosted the Mid-Atlantic Model U.N. Consortium competition March 31.
Approximately 80 students from seven colleges and universities participated: Westminster College, Cleveland State University, Community College of Allegheny County, Duquesne University, Lakeland Community College, Mercyhurst College, and the University of Pittsburgh.
Delegates competed in simulations of the United Nations Economic and Social Council and the G-20 summit, debating the "Establishment of Global Labor Standards and the Incorporation of Labor Standards into the Governance of the World Economy."
Two Westminster political science majors earned recognition for their efforts: junior Jeremy Hoover earned an Outstanding Delegate award for representing the United States on the Economic and Social Council and senior Jared Palonis earned a Superior Delegate award for representing the United States at the G-20 summit.
