The Westminster College Symphony Orchestra will present its fall concert Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
The program will include: "Danse Macabre" by Saint-Saëns; Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks; and Haydn's Symphony No. 103, also known as "The Drumroll Symphony."
The Orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, Westminster assistant professor of music, who joined the faculty full time in August. She earned an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and master's degree and Ph.D. from Ohio State University. She has studied Gaelic, fiddling, and fiddle pedagogy at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig in Scotland.
