College Promotes Five Faculty

Five Westminster College faculty recently received promotions.

Dr. Colleen Burke, who has been with Westminster since 2002, was tenured and promoted to associate professor of communication studies.  She earned undergraduate and master's degrees and Ph.D. from Duquesne University.  She can be reached at (724) 946-7199 or email.

Dr. Kerri Duerr, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2010, was promoted to assistant professor of biology.  She earned an undergraduate degree from Hartwick College, master's degree from Villanova University, and Ph.D. from the University of Vermont.  She can be reached at (724) 946-7210 or email.

Dr. SoYoung Kang, who has been with Westminster since 2007, was tenured and promoted to associate professor of education.  She earned an undergraduate degree from Korea University and master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee.  She can be reached at (724) 946-6034 or email.

Dr. Kristin Park, who joined the Westminster faculty in 1993, was promoted to professor of sociology.  Park, who chairs Westminster's Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice Studies, earned an undergraduate degree from Colgate University and master's certificate in Latin American studies, master's degree, and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She can be reached at (724) 946-7251 or email.

Dr. Joel Postema, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2005, was tenured and promoted to associate professor of Spanish.  Postema, who holds the Heritage Chair of Humanities, earned an undergraduate degree from Calvin College, master's degree from Western Michigan University, and Ph.D. from Washington University.  He can be reached at (724) 946-7263 or email.
