Posted on Friday, September 16, 2011

The Westminster College Concert Choir will present its 11th annual "Music and Meatballs" Friday, Oct. 7, at the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church.  Patrons may choose from three seating times: 4:30 p.m., 5:45 p.m., and 7 p.m.

This year's theme is "A Magical Evening of Disney" and features choir members performing selections from Disney musicals.  Dinner will be cooked and served by the students and includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, cheesecake, and hot and cold beverages.

Sophomore Jessica Kimbell is the accompanist and senior Andrew McMurray will serve as master of ceremonies.  The dinner committee includes: junior Lauren Claypool, head chef; senior Ali Pabrinkis, decorations; and junior Hannah Timm, publicity.  Choir co-presidents are seniors Kevin Tomb and Victoria Walker

"Our students participate in this fundraiser to help support the choir's tour to the southern U.S. in January," said Dr. Robin Lind, Westminster associate professor and director of choral activities.  "We will be singing in churches in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida."

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for seniors, students, and children.  Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling (724) 946-7270.  A limited number of tickets will be available at the door and take-outs will also be available.  A gift basket raffle will be held at each seating.
