The Westminster College Orchestra will present a concert Thursday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
The program will include: Chabrier's España; Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1; and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 10 in E-flat for Two Pianos, featuring Dr. Nancy Zipay DeSalvo, Westminster associate professor of music, and Ingrid Beute, freelance artist and teacher at the Pittsburgh Center for Young Musicians.
Westminster faculty in the orchestra are Dr. Daniel Perttu, assistant professor of music, on bassoon, and Dr. Jason Howard, visiting assistant professor of music, on cello.
The orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, who joined the Westminster faculty in 2009. She earned an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and a master's and doctorate from Ohio State University.
